Facebook

This is the most up to date facebook layout.

As you can see it uses the most basic and user friendly set up, with the middle part containing people's statuses. Anyone's name can be clicked on, which immediately sends you to their profile page, containing there friends, biography's, thoughts, photos and much more. The thing that made Facebook unique was, that it has a handy friend finder, which rather accurately finds people that you may know. It may seem like magic but instead is based round a clever mutual friend and network system, picking the people found in the network you apply for. If you have a hotmail account you can also simply upload your contacts from that.

Notifications are messages you receive from other people, which are posted on to your profile page, which is also known as your wall. Comments are another quick way to speak to people, which means you have to comment on their status. If all this sounds too confusing, Facebook also includes a chat system, similar to messenger.
